What you will do
Join our sought-after Building Services Trainee Programme, where you’ll be given the unique opportunity to learn about the design, installation and maintenance of the essential services and equipment that make a great building. With a focus on the technical and commercial aspects of projects, you will develop your experience across a project’s entire life cycle, to understand how everything fits together.
Using the knowledge and skills you’ve learnt on the programme, you’ll:
- Learn how mechanical and electrical services are designed, installed and maintained.
- Research current and emerging technology, understanding how it can be used to produce safe, sustainable, innovative and cost-effective solutions.
- Monitor essential progress and information to support team meetings.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including Commercial and Planning, to observe and learn about their processes for delivering a project.
Eligibility
For the Trainee Apprentice route, you’ll have a keen interest in Building Services and you’ll need to have achieved grade 4/C in GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent). You will also need to have obtained / be working towards a minimum of 2 A-Levels at grade D or above, or equivalent (Level 3 NVQ, BTEC, T-Level etc.).
In some instances, you will be required to have a full UK driving license (Birmingham, Wigan and Leeds). Our projects are geographically widespread therefore you’ll regularly be required to travel between projects in the region or may require stays away from home which the company will fully expense, and some require enhanced security checks. You will need to be flexible and committed to travelling, as well as time away from home.
Wigan – you will be based from a specific location, regularly be required to travel to our Manchester office and spend time away from home. Advanced security check required.
Leeds – you will be based from a specific location, regularly travel to projects across the region including Pocklington and Wakefield and spend time away from home. Advanced security check required.
Birmingham – you will be based from a specific location but our projects are widespread across the Midlands region, so you will regularly be required to travel between projects in this area. One role requires more extensive travel so you will regularly be required to travel between projects including Castle Donington, Rugby and Wolverhampton so it’s important for you to be flexible and committed to travelling. You’ll spend time away from home and be working on a project which requires you to undergo advanced security clearance.
