We currently have a requirement for an Assistant Management Accountant to join our team in Leatherhead.

About the Role:

Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will support a range of activities within the Financial Team which will include:

  • Assist with cash reporting and cash management.
  • Process monthly journals and reconcile costs as required.
  • Assist in reconciliation of bank and Inter-company accounts.
  • Review and process monthly transfer costs.
  • Update and produce monthly cost analysis for circulation to Land and Project teams.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure monthly costs are coded and authorised correctly including legal fees.
  • Review of HBJV drawdowns including monitoring of costs spent and cost to complete.
  • Liaise with the Purchase Ledger team for invoices and any queries on payments relating to WDL.
  • Liaise with solicitors for legal documents and monthly fees schedule.
  • Assist in preparation of WDL VAT return.
  • Provide support with the year-end audit process and tax computations.

Experience and skills required:

  • Ideally AAT qualified studying towards CIMA/ACCA/ACA or qualified by experience.
  • Preferably experience in working within the finance function.
  • Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and basic accounting adjustments such as accruals and prepayments.
  • Excellent IT skills including advanced MS Excel and experience with accounting packages.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Strong attention to details and problem-solving skills.
  • Willing to learn/develop with strong communication skills to build both internal and external relationships at all levels.
