The Vacancy

We have an opportunity for a Pre-Construction Manager to join our Wates team within our Planned Maintenance division covering various contracts. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership on tenders and all mobilisations in accordance with agreed bid strategy and within Wates governance process. You will be based within the South London/ surrounding areas.

Key Accountabilities will include:


  • Production, ownership and implementation of individual project bid strategies and customer plans.
  • Responsibility for producing and managing project bid budgets, balancing tender requirements with team efficiency.
  • Ensure that all members of the project bid team have a clear understanding of their role and required outputs.
  • Responsibility for engaging with functional leads and Senior Leadership Team to agree bid teams; monitoring and adapting to suit specific tender requirements throughout the bid period.
  • Ensure all bids are carried out and settled in accordance with Wates governance.

The ideal candidate will preferably have experience within the preconstruction environment working on a variety of project types, sizes and procurement routes. Previously lead preconstruction teams, client facing skills experience and work winning/ closing contracts.
