Sustainable
Working towards a sustainable supply chain.
As part of our commitment to becoming a net zero carbon company we are working with our suppliers to help them reach their own sustainability targets.

Collaborating for sustainability
We are collaborating with our supply chain partners, working towards our sustainability targets as well as delivering long-term social, economic and environmental benefits for customers.
As a partner of the Supply Chain Sustainability School, we can offer free training and workshops to help suppliers improve their knowledge and understanding of sustainability topics.
We are supporting our suppliers to enable them to commit and set science-based targets by the end of 2027.

Science-Based Targets
Wates Group has both near term and long term targets verified by the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi), a UN-backed initiative that works with companies to reduce emissions.
Our near-term science-based target commits us to:
Reduce absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 46.2% by the end of 2030, and Support 89% of our suppliers (by emissions) to have science-based targets by the end of 2027.
Our long-term science-based target commits us to reduce absolute emissions across Scopes 1, 2 and 3 by 90% by the end of 2045.

Modern slavery and human trafficking
We are proud of the ethical standards we have embedded into our business and we believe that these standards are consistent with the underlying principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Slavery and the trafficking of people have no place in the modern world. We have a zero-tolerance approach to slavery and human trafficking and we expect our supply chains to take the same stance. We are committed to developing, implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure that we address the threat of modern slavery within our business and in all of our business relationships, including in our supply chains.
