SHDF WAVE 2Funding Source
September 2023Contract start
We supported our partners at Bromford Housing to secure £3.5m of funding through Wave 2.1 of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund.
Bromford Housing aims to achieve at least an Energy Performance Certificate rating of C and a heat demand target of 90kwh/m2/annum in all their homes by 2028, ahead of the UK government’s target of 2030.
This project will help to bring some of their poorest performing homes up to the same standard. Working alongside the Bromford team we will install a range of energy saving measures designed to improve the warmth and comfort of resident’s homes. Our dedicated team of resident liaison officers will also be on hand to help residents get the most out of the new technology installed in their homes.
Throughout the project, which will finish before September 2025, we will be working with PAS 2035 consultants, Value Optimised Retrofit, who will support us in carrying out retrofit assessment, coordination and design for approximately 250 mixed-measure properties.
“We’re delighted to have received this additional funding, which we are matching with £3.5m of our own money, to help make some of our worst-performing homes more energy efficient. We’ll be taking a fabric-first approach to the work, concentrating on fitting insulation, windows and doors and then exploring options such as low carbon heating systems or Solar panels on roofs.”
