Rob Clifford

Executive Managing Director, SES

Rob was appointed to the Wates Executive Board as Executive Managing Director for SES on 1 January 2025.

Rob brings nearly three decades of construction, design, and engineering expertise to his role and has a strong track record of business leadership and significant experience in MEP operations strategy development and implementation.

From 2020 to 2023, Rob was the Managing Director for WICS, then part of the Wates Construction Group. In 2023, he became Managing Director of SES Engineering Services. He has demonstrated exceptional leadership capabilities, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, when he successfully led the ambitious five-week expansion of the Royal London Hospital to support the NHS’s emergency response.
