We’ve supported Havering
student to receive scholarship from Collado Collins to pursue “dream”
architecture career.

We’re pleased to announce that we are helping facilitate the support of Jordanas Viliusis, a promising young student and Havering resident, by the architecture firm Collado Collins, as he pursues his dream of becoming an architect.
Jordanas will receive financial support through his first three years of university education with a generous bursary provided by leading architecture firm Collado Collins.
This bursary is part of Collado Collins’ social value commitment to the partnership between Wates and Havering Council that is regenerating twelve estates across the borough and providing 3,500 new homes.
Collado Collins will also be providing Jordanas with paid work experience in their head office, as well as the opportunity to carry out his paid placement year with them.
Our social value team and Collado Collins visited local Havering schools and academies to discuss the role of an architect and encourage students to apply for the grant and attend an interview to share their ideas.
Since childhood, Jordanas has fostered a love for building things. He once constructed a computer from scratch with his friends, learning how to test the components and making tweaks when he encountered difficulties. From there, landscape architecture began to catch his eye, and he hopes to be able to incorporate the natural beauty of the environment with his future designs.

Jordanas will be studying at the University of Greenwich.

This programme forms part of our ongoing commitment to social value and bringing wider benefit to the communities it serves. Earlier this year, we achieved our social value targets for engagement with young people and for how much it spends with social enterprises ahead of schedule, and has now set even more ambitious targets.
Since 2020, we have reached more than 80,000 young people through workshops and assemblies at primary and secondary schools since 2020 – more than three times our original target of reaching 25,000 young people by 2025 – and have now extended this target to reach 100,000 young people by the end of 2025. As a Group we have also spent £31m with social enterprises since 2020, exceeding its original target of £25m by 2025, and has now extended its target to £36m by the end of 2025.
