Wates completes pharmacy fit-out at Royal Hampshire County hospital
Wates completed new robotic pharmacy fit-out of the Burrell Wing at Winchester’s Royal Hampshire County Hospital.
The £4m refurb includes new administration office space, meeting rooms and an automated dispensing system as well as the formation of a new shell for the hospital radio.
Work commenced in 2020 during Covid-19 restrictions when Wates was appointed by Hampshire Hospitals Foundation NHS Trust to deliver the fit-out works.
The project was procured via the Crown Commercial Services (CCS) Construction and Associated Services Agreement, which is designed for the use of all public sector bodies to commission the construction and maintenance of schools, hospitals, universities, prisons, housing and offices.
We’re delighted to complete the pharmacy fit-out at the hospital and I’m extremely proud of the team’s outstanding work on this project, particularly as it was delivered under strict Covid-19 restrictions and within an extremely busy critical environment.
Throughout the project, we worked collaboratively with the various stakeholders to ensure their needs were met and we maintained a continuous presence on site throughout each step of the work to effectively manage the progress.
Wates has worked with a variety of leading pharmaceutical companies, medical research organisations and NHS trusts; and our role often involves working in proximity to, and advising on, critical equipment.
We pride ourselves on delivering our healthcare projects with expert technical knowledge at our fingertips, while never compromising on safety and efficiency.”
