Wates’ tally of accolades continues to grow with the announcement of a number of award wins during October 2021

Part of the national professional organisation, Constructing Excellence, G4C represents the young professional voice of the UK’s built environment industry. G4C is passionate about focusing on young people and showcasing the young talent in the industry and its aim is to create a platform for young people in the industry to connect, challenge and help shape its future.

Constructing Excellence G4C North East Awards

The latest industry accolades to be bestowed at the G4C North East Awards is the ‘Commitment to Employee Development’ where Wates demonstrated their industry-leading commitment to training and the development of their employees as well as ‘HE Student of the Year’ which was presented to Matthew Armstrong, Section Manager, for his passion, drive and commitment to the construction industry.

Constructing Excellence North East Awards

Earlier this month, Teesside University was announced ‘Client of the Year’ at the Constructing Excellence North East Awards for its excellent collaborative work on the Cornell Quarter accommodation project.  Teesside University worked in collaboration with Wates Construction to design and construct the £21.4millon accommodation which welcomed students in October 2020.

Constructing Excellence G4C Yorkshire Awards

Continuing the awards success, Wates was presented with another three accolades at the Constructing Excellence G4C Yorkshire Awards with award wins in the ‘Commitment to Employee Development’ category as well as ‘Trainee of the Year’ for Lucy Ibbotson, Assistant Planner, demonstrating Lucy’s drive for continuous improvement and her determination to succeed and further progress her career.  During the evening, Ryan Gagg, Assistant Project Engineer, was awarded a Highly Commended in the ‘Future Leader of the Year’ category.
