Attracting talent with a new work experience model
Danielle Buckley and Sophie Paterson, from our Social Value team, write in Construction Management about the shortcomings of many work experience placements and how Wates has adopted a new model in the London Borough of Wandsworth called The Beacon Programme.
Danielle and Sophie’s view is that often the standard two-week model can be counterproductive and even deter candidates from choosing a certain path for their future. Wates Residential believes it has a social responsibility to create meaningful opportunities for young people.
The Beacon Programme highlights that by turning the standard work experience model on its head we can attract a new generation of untapped talent.”
