Window Insulation Coating

WI Coat solves the problem of cost-effectively insulating glass at scale. When correctly applied to pre-existing windows, our coating offers Low-E performance for a minimum of 20 years.

It’s a huge time and money saver. Improving health and well-being, WI Coat significantly reduces condensation, rot, and mold growth. It also reduces excess fading to interior decor and offers greater skin protection from UV rays. Used successfully worldwide for over 20 years, WI Coat is now available in the UK, exclusively through WI Ltd.

During Summer; WC-85 reduces the heat build-up in your home or office without restricting access to daylight. Internal temperatures remain more consistent and comfortable. On the hottest days, less energy is required to cool the interior.

During Winter; WC-85 reduces heat loss through your windows by blocking certain electromagnetic wavelengths. Internal spaces remain warmer, requiring less energy to heat.

When considering thermal efficiency, glass has always been a problematic material. Low-E Energy Saving Glass originated in the 1970s but suffered an unattractive green hue. Improved tintless variations soon followed in 1981 but continue to be expensive.

Modern glass coatings didn’t appear until the 2000s, following an energy crisis in Japan. Impractical at scale, upgrading windows to Low-E glass was cost and time prohibitive. Driven by necessity, a research team backed by Toyota and Mitsubishi sought an effective retrofit solution. This led to the innovation of WC-85 a safe and cost-effective retrofit alternative to Low-E glass.
