We deal fairly with our supply chain members, partners, competitors and customers, the people they employ and the wider community. We seek to ensure prompt and certain payment of our supply chain.

A greener built environment

We collaborate with our supply chain partners to deliver on our sustainability targets, which will bring long-term social, economic and environmental benefits through our procurement activities.

Our target is for 89% of our suppliers to have approved Science Based Targets (SBTi) by 2027. Wates will work closely with our suppliers to support them in achieving this target. We also encourage all our suppliers to partner with the Supply Chain Sustainability School, who are able to facilitate free training and workshops to help improve knowledge and understanding of sustainability topics.

We have a clear and consistent approach to the way we engage with our supply chain, as we understand the importance of developing collaborative and mutually beneficial relationships.

Regular communication, networking events and structured business to business meetings are all part of our supplier relationship management plan.

We host and attend many meet the buyer events, both independently and as part of our partnership with Constructionline.

These allow us to meet local and national supply chain. They also present excellent networking opportunities where we can discuss our strategic priorities and long term goals.

Supply Chain Administrator

Here at Wates, we have an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Administrator to join our Wates Living Space Supply Chain Team team based in one of our offices nationwide. As an administrator you will engage within the full administration process and provide on-going customer support for the team.Key Accountabilities will include: On-going management and development of multiple project trackers. Create and maintain various data streams on in-house systems and databases. Ensure all works orders received are completed within target dates leading to delivery of contractual key performance indicators. Liaise with the planning team to ensure correct allocation. To participate in and contribute positively to Inducting/ On boarding supply chain with a view to them becoming an asset to the team. Ensure that pre and post repairs inspections are carried out, undertaking all necessary checks in accordance with Wates Professional standards and other associated policies and procedures. Record regular quality control checks of works orders.We are looking for a Supply Chain Administrator who is a confident communicator, computer literate with experience in Excel and trackers. Experience working in construction/facilities management/or maintenance is preferred but not essential. To be successful in this role you will be a team player who can manage their own workload, has a good attention to detail and most of all have a ‘can do’ attitude.
