Refurbishing an existing Victorian building.

This project at Newcastle High School for Girls for the the Girls’ Day School Trust includes the refurbishment of the existing Victorian building (including a number of existing extensions added at various periods) and the full strip-out and replacement of existing M&E.

There was an extension infill to the existing building and various repairs to the façade as well as a new build on site adjoining the existing building.

In addition, there was refurbishment works to existing hard/soft landscaping. We overcame potential challenges with the site logistics as the school is in a very tight location with neighbouring houses.

The scheme has 100% LED lighting, highly efficient heat recovery units, fabric ductwork to new performance space, extensive CAT6A data infrastructure, and traditional steel and copper pipework installation.
