Prime Minister announces New Deal for Britain: Statement from Wates
Prime Minister Boris Johnson has today announced plans which will enable the nation to “build, build, build,” pledging £5bn in capital funds for the creation of new schools, roads, hospitals and other infrastructure improvements

The Wates Group welcomes the Prime Minister’s announcement which commits the Government into investing £5bn into the nation’s infrastructure in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic.
It is this scale of commitment to improving the country’s infrastructure that will make a huge impact in boosting the economy post-Covid, create valuable jobs and enable us to deliver much needed investment into local communities across the UK.
We also welcome the Government’s commitment to greener, more sustainable buildings.
The plans indicate a great potential for the industry to push forward environmental sustainability by creating carbon efficient buildings and seizing opportunities to deliver projects using modern methods of construction such as offsite manufacturing, which we provide from our award-winning purpose built offsite facility in the Midlands.
