Wates has bolstered its business development strategy with the appointment of Melissa Woodall as Communications and Marketing Business Partner.

Melissa will support the business development plans for both Wates Living Space and Wates FM, the two housing repairs and maintenance and total FM service businesses that form Wates Property Services.

She will work with Wates Living Space and Wates FMs business development teams to support their growth in the public and private sectors, aligning all comms and marketing to the businesses respective BD strategies.

Melissa joins Wates from PiLON Ltd where she was Head of New Business, responsible for all new business functions, bringing together the business development, bid and marketing teams.

With over 10 years in the industry, Melissas experience within the built environment has seen her fulfil business development roles specialising in housing and environmental projects for a number of clients.

This appointment follows the launch of Wates FM in June this year. Formerly operating as Wates Smartspace FM, the business now forms part of Wates Property Services alongside the Groups Living Space business.

Melissa added:

I am a huge believer in collaborative working and this very much applies to our internal processes as well as our client relationships. Working in partnership allows us to understand each others objectives as well as those of our clients, and it is this understanding that will enable us to grow sustainably, while sourcing innovative solutions that meet our clients needs.

Melissa is an active participant in the housing sector. She is Chair of the South East Region of Women in Social Housing (WISH) and is Vice Chair for the National Housing Maintenance Forum Contractors Forum (NHMFCF).
