Wates appointed to deliver Sandwell Aquatic Centre
Wates has been appointed as the design and construction partner for the new Aquatics Centre in Smethwick for Sandwell Council.
The contractor and Council have been working in partnership to develop the construction programme and design for the new state-of-the-art facility, bringing modern leisure facilities to the town.
Wates was appointed via Major Works – UK, part of the Scape National Construction framework.
Based just four miles away in Quinton, Wates Construction has committed to using its role on the project as a force for good by providing significant economic and social benefits to Sandwells businesses and residents. The contractor is already in the process of engaging a local supply chain and creating a comprehensive employment and training plan.
