Design and construction of a new two-storey, 40-bed dementia-friendly extra care home, supporting facilities, and all associated infrastructure & external works to replace the nearby Hazelwood Care Home. Each of the two wings has its own lounge, dining area and activity room. Outside there are garden terraces and seating areas for residents and their families to enjoy and raised beds forming an allotment that residents can tend.
The vision was for the facility to become a ‘hub’ for the local community, providing amenities that will support existing local projects including a public café, hair salon, function spaces and a high-quality football pitch providing opportunities for inter-generational activities.
